Is Chromecast Google’s Next Big Thing

Chromecast is a $35 dongle from the big G that plugs into an HDMI slot on your television, and its main purpose is to reduce the amount of time between wanting to watch a video on Netflix or YouTube and actually doing it. It works with both iOS and Android devices and instead of streaming from your mobile device (tablet, phone, etc) like AirPlay, Chromecast streams straight from the Internet; your phone or tablet just sends the instructions to the dongle. This is perfect for most Netflix viewers and is probably preferable. But for the tinkerers out there, for the same price you could get a Raspberry Pi that you could install XBMC on and have a lot more options, but again this isn’t for your everyday average consumer. What do you think?

Pete Rose Tells Cheaters Come Clean

“Come clean as quickly as you possibly can,” Rose told USA TODAY Sports on Thursday. One of baseball’s most known black-listers accepted a lifetime ban from then-commissioner Bart Giamatti in August 1989, after an investigation revealed he had been gambling on games while managing the Cincinnati Reds.  When asked about Matt Braun he stated:

“I guess Braun thought he was going to get away with it when he got off the hook the first time. I wish I could go around to all the spring training camps and talk to the young players about what happened to me.”

Dwight Howard Wanted the Lakers To Amnesty Kobe

Kobe - Dwight

Recent reports have stated that one of the reasons that Dwight didn’t stay put in LA is that he want the Lakers to 86 Kobe and make Howard the main event. Unfortunately for him the Lakers’ brass (and most of the world) disagreed. Kobe, aging and now with a bum leg (torn Achilles tendon), is still likely to be more productive that a soft Howard. It’s safe to say that Howard, hampered by a bad shoulder last season, is the league’s premium big man but is still underachieving despite his solid numbers. Most Lakers’ fans will agree that Howard couldn’t had LA’s lime light and were happy to see him go.

Also in other news the Lakers’ have decided to exercise their amnesty clause on Metta World Peace (PKA Ron Artest AKA “I fight fans”). The Lake-show has also added Nick Young and a few other pieces to start what rebuilding process.
